Negative for bv but have foul smell

Hello,

It has been about a month since I noticed a strong foul odor. I don't have any discharge, itching or burning. I went to 2 doctors and they tested me for bv and trichomoniasis twice and the results both came back negative. The other doctor still prescribed me flagyl/metronidazole 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. I just finished them today and still no changes. I don't think the smell is coming from my vagina. I smell my underwear and I rub myself down there and smell my fingers but I don't smell anything. The doctor even said himself that he has a sensitive nose and he did not smell anything when he was doing the tests. It seems like it is a body odor. It has a strong ammonia and rotten smell. I have been doing a lot of research and I saw that hormonal imbalance can also cause body odor. I have noticed that when I'm home relaxing, I don't really smell anything but when I go to work, I become very self-conscious, worried and stressed about my smell and it seems like it drives my hormones up the roof and I notice a very foul smell. It is very embarrassing because I know my co-workers notice it too because they joke and whisper about it. I can't live a normal life because I try to avoid being around people. Sometimes I call out for work or leave work early and I'm afraid it's going to affect my job. I really hope someone can help me please. I am really stressed out about all this. I don't know what else to do.

ohh dear .. I can only imagine your pain.

Is it only the vaginal area that have that odor?? does your body also smell ?? Im just trying to understand. In some cases it could be the the food we eat. how is your diet? drink lots of water. And please try vaginal suppositories called boricap. Its all natural and its worth the try. Get the pink one 600mg. believe me i know how it feels. i use to smell rotten fish. i hope you find a solution very soon. and also your doctor should observe your hormones. if there is an imbalance.. he should prescribe some thing that balance your hormones. Dont give up your work for anyone. we are all humans and we not perfect. good luck dear

Thank you dear. I don't think the smell is coming from my vagina. Even the doctor confirmed that he did not smell anything down there when he was examining me. I think my hormones is fluctuating causing the foul odor to seep through my pores. I'm very skeptic about inserting stuff in there cause it might irritate it and cause more infection.

blessing007 smart thinking not to place anything inside your already upset vaginal ecosystem. Ammonia and rotten are classic descriptions of BV odor but if the doc says youre negative than you could just have a high PH and need to get it back into check. Ask your Gyn if he would test ur PH, you can also test it yourself at home. Look on Amazon for testing strips. If its high see if your doc will prescribe a boric acid suppository. Also look into a good daily probiotic. These things have helped me.
