      Hey ama

thanks for replying. I'm curious in how anyone else manages these problems and if it's normal thing to happen. I have lost feeling and function of my right foot and calf.

I was diagnosed with AS about a year ago,  my rheumatologist hasn't started to treat it yet because she is trying to control the inflammation in my other joints first.  I had an episode a few months ago I woke up and my hand was numb and it lasted all day which completely freaked me out. I never made the connection that it could be the AS. I was on Methotrexate for 6 weeks and from the very first time I took it I started to have shooting pains go down my legs.  Every week when I took it the pains started right after I took the pills.  Mostly in my knees, hand and feet,  but once in my breast.  Everyone I talked to suggested it could be affecting my nerves.  I finally stopped the Methotrexate and am going to try sulfalazine.  Hope it works not sure how much longer I can deal with the constant severe neck pain.
