Im due to have this on tuesday..

Has anyone else had this?

Im having it because my leg below knee is numb, pins and needles and tingles..

A few times my whole leg has gone numb and felt like ut wasn't there

Over last day its crept up an is now behind knee..

Will this test show what is causing it so I can get it sorted?

Thanks.

Are you having any other symptoms? Always worth checking yourself against the symptom checker for B12 deficiency. It can cause the problem you describe, but not in isolation

I have similar symptoms and have had them 10 years. The nerve conduction test won't show you what is wrong. It will only show the degree to which you have lost feeling. Blood tests may show what is the cause, but in my case they didn't come up with any reason for the symptoms. Diabetic neuropathy can be just one of many causes, but for me none of the conditions showed up - see separate discussion started by me.

      Hiya,

It sees if / what nerves could be having problemd /damaged etc.

I think ..search on this dute it explains better than I can :-)

Ill post back tomorrow after I get home from the test.

B12 is often overlooked as in the uk our 'normal' range is one of the lowest in the world & people who are in the low normal range but are displaying symptoms (numbness/tingling) may have a b12 absorption problem so it effectively floats in the blood not making it into cells. Sublingual tablets are then a preferred option as oral tablets don't tend to help. Worth considering. A level under 500 is automatically treated in japan. Level in uk is 150

The numbness I had reached my groin ( which is when I thought I'd better check this out, lol!)it took about a week or so to reach there starting with an ankle. It lasted about 2 weeks and then slowly receded and I forgot about it as the GP did nothing. But other symptoms came a year or so later. I do urge you to read those books and do the 16 hr daily fast. This combined with some weight training twice a week has neuro regenerative properties. It has made such a difference to me and my muscle weakness has receded hugely. Keep in touch. X

Hi there smile. This was SO like my symptoms before being diagnosed. With the MS. How is your balance in the dark? I had the creeping numbness - started at ankles crept up ober a week to pelvis and then it receded slowly. A year later got other symptoms of lack of balance etc which is when they sent me for scan. I haven't had this sort of test you refer to just scan. But this was all 15/17 years ago so diagnosis will hopefully be more readily available.  I  believe they wait for 2 or more sets of symptoms to show before making an MS diagnosis. But that may have changed. I'm still riding remember and I'm in my 60s biggrin Keep in touch x
