Nerve damage?

I have had what sounds like sciatica for roughly 9 months. I have tried alternative treatment, anti inflammatories, painkillers, heat and cold creams, amitriptyline. I have been to the doctors, been seen by a physio, who said it is nerve damage, and I was then sent for an MRI scan for which I am waiting on results.

Unfortunately all these meds and creams do not work, I am finding my work, shopping, housework etc difficult now.

Has anyone else had this type of problem, if so is there any advice you can give me?
