Nerve pain

I was wondering if anyone else suffers with really bad nerve pain? I’ve had type 2 now for over two years and I’m on anti vitals which since taking them for the past 6 months I haven’t had an outbreak (touch wood) but I have constant prodrome symptoms which makes it difficult to judge when to have sex. But no pain killers get rid of it. The pain goes down my left leg and my bum cheek and bottom of my back. Does anyone have any ways of reducing the pain which the anti virals don’t seem to do. Thanks

I have similar pain but it goes away when I start the antivirals. I’m going to ask my doc for suppression therapy to see if that will reduce the frequency. It’s never gotten bad, but I’ve started taking the meds as soon as I feel it to stop the outbreak. I’ve only been positive since Sep 2017 so don’t have much experience.

Thanks for replying, my nerve pain has probably gotten worse on the anti virals. Before I started them I would get the nerve pain then the outbreak but now it’s just constant nerve pain and no outbreak it’s driving me mad. There’s only odd days where I don’t get the nerve pain so it’s a constant reminder i have it x

I didn’t get the nerve pain until my 2nd or 3rd outbreak, not sure, I’m on my 5th in 5 months, including the first one. Really stinks.

I was the same when I first got it, one a month that’s why i went on anti virals and up to now they have been ok but it’s just the nerve pain that’s getting me down. Just wish there was a cure for this it’s hard knowing I’ve got to deal with this forever :-(
