Nerve pain from Iodine injection

Hi

I had a CT scan with contrast on Wednesday just gone. Since then i have struggled with tingling in hands and feet and also muscle aches and pains around the joints of the arms and legs.

I had similar symptoms a few years back when i was diagnosed with peripheral nerve hyperexcitability/benign fasciculation syndrome. However, since the scan with contrast, this has really flared up out of nowhere.

Has anyone ever suffered anything similar or in a position to add any medical logic to this?

Hey mate, have the same thing you are experiencing from ct with contrast. Stabbing pains in toes and fingers, muscle aces and pains, muscle spasms, feel quite fatigued. Has been going on for 3 and a half months so far. Had blood tests, mri of brain and spine ect. Was 100 percent that iodine injection. Let me no if you find anything that helps??

Hello james40298 - you might want to have a blood test to check for antibodies.  It sounds like the Iodine injection could have kicked off an autoimmune response.  I have Hashimoto's Disease which affects my thyroid gland and it was triggered after getting a vaccination.  I have horrible nerve pain from the autoimmune disorder.  You also might want to try to remove gluten and dairy from your diet for two weeks to see if that helps you.  It helped me tremendously!  Another thing that helps with the foot nerve pain is soaking in Epsom Salt baths.  The magnesium is absorbed through the skin and helps very quickly.  Good luck to you!
