Nervous about Hormones testing

Hi All,
I went to a docs appointment yesterday. I had to see a new GP since my previous one no longer accepts my insurance. I was very anxious and nervous because of health anxieties I hate going to the docs. I didn't like my previous GP but used him because all my family uses him.
Over all, I was pleased with the visit. She actually listened to my concerns even though she thinks I may need to see a therapist for the anxiety. Stated that she would do a complete blood work up to see where my levels are. I expressed that I wanted my thyroid checked. She stated she was going to check that, my cholesterol, and my hormone levels. My previous GP did not check any of that. She stated she don't like prescribing pills if they are not needed.
I am anxious about the hormones. The rest of the blood work I'm ok with as I have had several done in the past few months. I just hate for the hormone levels to come back normal. I feel no one is listening to how I feel and I'm not getting anywhere. I've changed my diet and doing more to help myself but without a doc seeing something on paper they act as if I'm talking like a nutcase when I'm sharing my symptoms. I'm just tired of going in circles and I'm tired of the guessing as to what is wrong with me. I know it's not anything serious from previous visits to hospitals and docs so I'm certain it's hormones but the docs just will not say. Sorry for the long post. I needed to vent.

I have a friend who works in a lab so this has come from her but also my naturopath. However Jamie you could approach your blood labs direct and order your OWN bloods , over here it costs about $50 to test estrogen/progesterone, without a Drs referral.

they should say what results are in the normal range according to when you took the test. Trying to see if your FSH etc was considered normal.
il hunt mine out if I can find them

I have had numerous blood tests, when i was in the same situation as you, feeling odd, really down, anxious, feelings of doom, thinking there was really something wrong with me. I had my first experience of this when i was 47, 51 now. It took 4 years of regularly going to my GP and telling her, asking her if i could have blood tests to see if i was peri-menopausal and every time they came back normal. I now know that they fluctuate so much its really hard to get an accurate reading on them. I would suspect that you probably are peri, i was feeling then what i feel now and it was confirmed finally last year that i am peri-menopsausal. I think that Drs need to explain this a bit more to woman, as after reading many stories on here it seems at some point we are in the wilderness where we feel weird not right but because the blood test says you should be feeling ok, it can be inacurate and we are peri-menopausal. I take magnesium, Agnus Castus, vit B and changed my diet, did help a bit the best thing was knowing that i wasnt going mad and there was a reason i was feeling like this. If you have a gut feeling that your body is changing then it most probably is the start of it. The biggest thing i think is anxiety, i try to deal with best i can, dont take anything for it. I read about a plant based estrogen diet i.e.,(soya milk) which i think can help, as does exercise when you are feeling low.

I have a strong gut feeling that I started peri about three years ago when I turned 35. I noticed changes then but thought it was normal. Now I'm having even more weird changes and the horrible anxiety.
