nervous about steroid treatment. Has anyone used Budesoside?

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi, I have refractory coeliac, CFS and osteoporosis and unfortunately 3 years of gluten free living, infusions, prescribed vitamins etc have had no positive impact. The last biopsies showed no improvement at all!

My consultant now wants me on Budesoside, a steroid treatment for Chrons but I'm extremely anxious and worried about taking steroid treatment.

Has anyone taken this? Did it help or were side effects too much?

Thanks

I'm sorry I don't have a direct answer to your question; I was just wondering though, if you have tried going without all grains? I realise it won't be easy at first, but if it helps you get back some semblance of normalcy without steroids, it's worth a try. There's a book called "No Grain, No Pain" written by a doctor Peter Osborne, which I had planned on getting, which may be of help to you (I have coeliac disease, fibromyalgia and thyroid problems and this is why I was interested in it, although interestingly, since being gluten free my thyroid medication has needed to be reduced a little). Perhaps you could look into this before going on steroid medication? I hope this is of some help to you.

Thanks so much Fiona, great news that it has reduced your thyroid meds. I haven't had any grains or pulses for over 2yrs. I stick to fish and fresh veggies mainly. The steroids are the last resort but I'm really apprehensive. :-(

When you say you don't have any grains, do you mean, oats, quinoa, rice etc?

I can can understand your apprehension and I hope someone on here can help you with this.
