Neurological disorders possible dementia

I've posted here many times regarding all my neurological disorders. A couple months ago I was referred to a new Neurologist because I shared with my doctor all of the new symptoms I'd been dealing with for about a year. Based on my new symptoms he had me take a 2 part test, the first part was a Cognitive impairment and the second part is called a MMSE TEST which stands for Mini State Memory Exam. Out of a total of 30 points I scored 10 points. He then referred me to a Neurologist that specializes in dementia. At our first meeting he already knew I had a stroke, Complex Partial Seizure Disorders, White Matter Disease but it had been 2 years since my last MRI brain scan and EEG. So he ordered for me to have those done on me and asked me to give him a list of my current symptoms and asked a bunch of questions in writing which I gave him. My new list of symptoms are: 1) Short term memory loss. 2) Communication, I continue to repeat myself, the words I want to speak are gone, vanished, I stutter, it's like someone stole half of the alphabet, I use to be able to pray so eloquenty, now, I can't even put 3 words together. 3) Apathy. 4) Roam all hours late at night. 5) Depression. 6) Mood Swings. 7) Have extreme troubles sleeping, some nights I don't sleep at all, some nights I go time bed fine but then I wake up in the middle of the night and stay up all night. 8) Major Hallucinations, I see things/ people that are not there. 9) Confusion. 10) Mood Swings. 11) No motivation to do ANYTHING. 12) Dreams, don't know if I'm dreaming or if it's real. 13) tremors in my fingers.
We saw my neurologist today, come to find out I've had 4 strokes, one of them is in an area that could be causing my seizures. I have 4 triggers to my seizures, 1) loud high pitch screaming, 2) yelling/arguing 3) Extreme anxiety 4) extreme anger. My son and his girlfriend got into a argument before Christmas, she was screaming cussing at him calling him names and it went me into a seizure. I go back and see my neurologist in 2 months. A friend told me I show all the classic signs of dementia they are now trying to figure out which disease you have and they wont say anything until they are absolutely sure. They said, be patient, it takes 6 to 9 months but if they had to guess I have either Vascular or Lewy Body. Can anyone confirm?

Strokes can cause some of the symptoms you have such as the memory and speech problems; this is what stands out for me. However, you will have to be patient and wait for a diagnosis. Doctors will not say anything until they are certain about what you have.Unfortunately, no one can confirm what you have here because few of us are doctors. The only person that can confirm a diagnosis for you is your doctor.

Hi jon8181
Well you certainly put your post together nicely and comprehensively. If i were you i would stop speculating and be patient and wait for your test results. As already mentioned strokes can leave you with some adverse cognitive symptoms.....try not to stress over the time length you have to wait, better to wait knowing there is something positive forthcoming at the end of it than no result at all....have a great new 2019....

hi I'm Jon's wife Debbie. I don't most of his communications for him. There was one thing we found out from the Neurologist. We always wondered why he began having seizures. In February 2017 they performed an MRI brain scan, a CT Scan and a EEG. They diagnosed him with having Complex Partial Seizure Disorders but that's all the information they gave us. In November 2016 I'd left to the vet with my youngest son so he could get his dog fixed. We left the house around 6:00 in the morning. Jon was sitting on the toilet, the guest bathroom was sort of a gathering place. A little while after we left my husband tried getting up from the toilet seat but he began having major vertigo, fell to the floor but he couldn't get up, he said it was like someone was pushing down against the floor, his left arm felt like someone was sticking pins all up and down his arm, he couldn't talk or scream out. He was able to crawl to the bathroom door. Our 2 young grandsons found him and got my daughter in law, she said he was unable to move or talk, all he could do was mumble, she got my son and got him to bed and they left him there until I got home. Our new Neurologist said the one of 4 strokes he has had was within a couple of years and its the one thats in the area of his brain that causes his seizures. I can't help to think of my son and daughter in law would have only called 911, why didn't she do that, she's been a caregiver to her mom maybe he wouldn't be having this issue now for the rest of his life.
