if you are very new to this illness what foods should you eat when you come out of hospital after a week of not eating diahrea. need advice please for a relative.

    Hi Tracy my doctor suggested I eat only bland easy to digest foods..pastas eggs etc. I have stayed away from ruffage or higher fiber u til recently as my lesions are finally healingI also went gluten free it's not necessary but it has helped me

    Try to stick to low fibre foods, white bread, white rice or pasta, minimal salad and veg. Chicken and fish are ok and cereals like corn flakes or Rice Krispies . Once things settle introduce, slowly other foods and see what the effect is. It's a long slow process. Good luck

    It is difficult because their body in many cases is starving, due to constant diarriah and bouts of pain. I would suggest soft food, something easy to digest and something they really fancy eating.. One thing to remember is that if you suck sweets all the time it will make you go to the toilet more, because the chewing sets up a reaction in the bowel.
