New and scared

Hi,

I have suspected diverticulitis. I'm booked in for a colonoscopy the end of January and I have no idea what to expect... Not with the test but if the diagnosis is confirmed. At the moment I am going through a lot of pain and always passing blood and blood clots. The specialist ruled out the big C from an examination but I'm still scared about the big D... What am I to expect?

If any one can please help me understand about this condition i would be really grateful.

    I just wanted to thank everyone for all their answers and support incase I missed anyone out. I feel less scared approaching this new stage of my life. You've all been a great help suggesting things I can't thank you all enough!
