New and super fun symptoms - help please

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've had a bumpy ride with my menopause journey so far. HRT and anti-depressants do help but I get recurrence of symptoms from time to time. Quite out of the blue I can feel jittery, doom and fear filled, hot flashey, cold dread, sad, hugely anxious, and catastrophising about everything. Recently I have woken in the night with these feelings. It is horrendous.

And lower back and hip pain are the latest addition to my list of symptoms. I am really struggling with this as I immediately start to worry I have cancer or some other serious disease.

I do feel I am going mad and it upsets me that I get over one thing only to have something else crop up.

Do any of you feel/suffer the same?? What helps?

Thanks.

Hi there. So sorry you are feeling like this. I'm 46 and perimenopausal. I've had the worst 3 months of my life with so many symptoms. Awful anxiety is the worse for me but I also have hip, back and leg pain. Shoulder and neck pain. Feelings of doom, fear, sad, not looking forward to the future. I also get terrible head/ear/neck/eye pressure. Palpitations and fast heart rate (so much so that I ended up in hospital and now on beta blockers). I've been prescribed HRT but so far I haven't found the right dosage so I stopped and now I'm scared to try again incase it makes the anxiety worse. I've had so many tests in the past 3 months because of all these symptoms but nothing has been found so they must all be hormone related. So hard to accept that hormones can cause all these problems.

What HRT are you on? Could the dose need adjusting?

    Hugs xx

So sorry to read that you've had a similar experience to me. Menopause to me is like a rollercoaster you can't get off. That said i have found that HRT (I am on Elleste Duet - I wasn't absorbing the gel) has alleviated some of my symptoms, so I'm glad I have persevered. I also found out that i have osteopenia so am keen to stay on my meds as they help with bone protection.

While I am sad you are having a tough time too, it helps me to know I'm not alone.
