i am finding it hard to get my dr to let me try this, but i know if i go privately i can probably get it.
i, too, am on mirtazapine at night, but the hangover effect is getting to me, i cant function till lunchtime, and only on low dose, not sure whether to try to ditch it.
one thing is for sure, i am not better but am feeling ok by teatime.
do you think it is worth trying to get my dr to give agomelatine, they say its not approved in uk.

I would ask your doctor for it. I get mine from the mental health team and been on it for about 6months. I take both at night. My gf has said without agomelotine in more moody and down. So yes i press who ever to get it and i live in uk

Thanks, ll try again. They seem very reluctant to give it out for some reason. I wonder if its not licensed in my MHT area or if it is the cost. One way or another I feel I am beinf fobbed off, obviously other parients can get it. Maybe you are a private patient?
Anyway, I am so fed up being given out the 'old' tried and tested a/d's and having the awful side effects that I need to try something. I am only able to tolerate 7.5mg mirtazapine which isnt very helpful, any more and anxiety peaks.
