New area discovered

Whilst my vulval area seems to be under control at the moment, I have just discovered with horror, white skin around my anus. Not an area I can easily see.  I have started using steroid Betnovate there. Has anyone had success in getting rid of white skin in this area with steroids? I had thought I was doing well, so am really depressed to find this.

Thank you Dawn, that's encouraging and just what I need to hear....and what a kind supportive husband you have. I will have to enlist mine for check ups I think - something new to get used to!

Hi, I have made a potion of 10ml castor oil, 5 drops lavender essential oil, 5 drops frankincense essential oil. Its been a godsend to me. I had a large white patch from vulva to anus with a bleeding lesion. I have been using my potion for nearly two weeks now (I think) and am so happy to say that the lesion has healed, the white patch is a thin white line and I'm now pink again!  I apply it morning and night

I had this same thing happen. That's a really sensitive area and can cause problems going to the bathroom. My cream took care of it but it seemed to take longer than the vulva area. I went a good while with it gone and now is back but to a smaller degree.

Oh I feel for you that it has come back, j. I hope you can get rid of it again. I can imagine it taking longer than vulva and intend to use Betnovate every night for 4 weeks, as my doctor had instructed me to use on the vulva originally. I think this new area has gone unnoticed for a while as it is so difficult to self-examine there.

Thank you for your comments, it really helps to hear from others who have been there.

Hope that does the trick. It's kinda like once you have it there you'll always check now. Take care and I too appreciate comments cause it's easy to feel alone with this disease! Nice to get some answers from others in the same boat 😊

So sorry but you are not alone...

I use aloe baby wipes after every BM. If I still feel sore and itchy I keep a spray bottle of borax and lavender handy. Also make sure you find a good product to keep the area moisturized and protected. I have a couple different ointments that I like. My local grocery store has an all natural petroleum free ointment which consists of jojoba oil, coconut oil and olive oil. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the name so I'll leave it out for now. I also found another good one on amazon. It's an herbal healing salve with all kinds of good stuff. If your interested in knowing the names I think you can privately message me.

Thank you Jen - have neglected moisturizing this area although wash thoroughly with epaderm and use Borax as a swab. I will definitely start more moisturizing now. I am not sure how to PM you for those product names but will try.

Haven’t tried it yet but lots of folks sure do swear by it! The pure emu oil (“Pro” is the brand I recently started) is truly helping me too. Mostly with the pain.
