new bleeding 6 weeks post hyster

Hi all

Hoping someone can advise...

I am 6 weeks post TAH and apart from very light bleeding for two days post open, I have had no bleeding or spotting etc at all.....until this morning, when I woke up and wet to the loo, I noticed a watery blood patch in my pants, this was followed by more fresh bleeding just like a period.

I have been gradually building up my activities but yesterday didn't do much other than drive around to run a couple of errands. I did feel achey last light and actually wen t to bed early.

Why have I suddenly start to bleed ? I'm worried but don't have much faith in the weekend out of hours doctoring arrangements....

anyone else had this?

Thanks

    Hi Amanda...

No harm to get things checked out... Either go to your Doctor or else phone the hospital to speak to a Nurse on duty who would be able to advise or put a call through to your Gynacologist / surgeon to advise... Might be wise to ease off on things a bit for a few days and rest up a bit...

    Thanks for the advice ladies.

Spoke to gynae doctor, he isn't worried at the moment. Could be a collection of blood that has built up and found its way through the stitches or could also be granulation where its healed a bit too well.

He wants me to get a vaginal swab done just to rule out infection thoughh doesn't think that's likely. Doesn't hurt to check though.

    Thanks and take care x
