New bleeding after 4 weeks

It's four weeks since I had anterior and posterior repairs plus SSF and perineal repair. All has been going well and I have been resting a lot and not doing any lifting etc. I have been a bit more active in the last few days with a bit of washing up and food prep but nothing heavy. I had barely any post op bleeding and just what appears to be the usual vaginal discharge. Yesterday i started bleeding and thought it might be a period coming on. I am 54 but not through the menopause yet, and with erratic periods. I bled overnight but not like a period and wondered if it is normal to have post op bleeding at this stage? the blood is bright red and intermittent. Anybody else had this? should I contact my doctor?

Hi, it could just be your deep internal stitches that are ready to come out, and with you being a bit more active, it has moved things along. If you're worried ring your dr for peace of mind

i bled for about 6 weeks from a hematoma. dr said ut was seeping through the stitches. you could have one of those. they're super annoying and mine was pretty big. they take about 6 to disappear and since i have been much better.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up calling the hospital and spoke to a nurse who checked with the doctor. He said nothing to worry about and call back if it gets very heavy or if i develop a temperature or feel unwell.

Its a roller coaster business recovering from these ops and hard not to worry but I really appreciate having a place to air these concerns without being judged. Thanks all.
