New Book on Tinnitus

Hi Everyone,
I also belong to a forum called "Tinnitus Talk" and today I received an announcement that another member of the forum has published a new book called "Living With Tinnitus: A practical guide to understanding, treating, and coping with tinnitus." The author's pen name is Laura Cole. In order to celebrate her book launch, she's offering the book as a free Kindle download via Amazon US and Amazon UK until Saturday, January 13, 2018.
I'm not positive if you have to be a member of Tinnitus Talk to get it free. I know that it's free to anyone with a subscription to Kindle Unlimited, and I know that when I went to Amazon directly from the link in her forum post, I was able to download the Kindle edition at no charge.
The book is 481 pages, she draws from many resources, including the Tinnitus Talk forum, and since I always start at the end, I can tell you that it has a rich bibliography, with lots of interesting links.
Best Wishes to All,
J-

You're all very welcome! I always try to keep my (good) ear to the ground for new things!! I posted about it because I've noticed over time that for some people with MD, their tinnitus drives them even more insane than their vertigo. I've read of several people who have been helped enormously by one of the techniques the author mentions in the book, that comes straight from one of the Tinnitus Talk forum members. You never know when you're going to stumble upon something that might help...
Sending wishes for healing, to everyone....
Sincerely,
J-

I recommend getting the book, as there’s no way I could possibly sum all that this book has to say about tinnitus. It really is a comprehensive study of all aspects, causes, anatomy and physiology, treatements, self help, medical options, treatments in the pipeline, etc... etc..... That said, there is one technique called the “Back to Silence” which was originally devised by Terry, another member of the Tinitus Talk forum. It has worked for a lot of members. But Terry’s tinnitus, I think, originated from noise exposure and migraine medications. And another member, Paul, has a hypnosis protocol that has worked for him. I’m reluctant to recommend any one treatment, as everyone is so unique. If you can download the book, I think you’ll see what I mean!
Anyway....I think you can see at least one of Terry’s talks on “Back to Silence” on YouTube. But I would recommend the backup reading, too...as it goes into how tinnitus is not just an ear problem, but a brain problem as well.....I used to think it was simply an ear problem....as that’s how it started with me....along with my vertigo. But as time as gone along, my doctor has finally been able to explain the brain/ear connection more clearly, and I can appreciate the challenges in coming up with a cure.
Personally, I received tremendous relief, (not eradication...but reduction) from my tinnitus and hearing loss after many monthly intratympanic injections of sterioids. It has made it manageable.
Check out the YouTube and the book, and see what you think, and let us know.. I just don’t feel like I’m expert enough to teach any sort of technique (except going for my injections!) , or I certainly would!
Take good care,
J-

Hello. I would like to swap the above book to "Tinnitus, From Tyrant to Friend: How to Let Go of Ringing in your Ears" by Julian Cowan Hill. There are 9 techniques inside.
Altetnatively, I will sent it to anybody free of charge as I believe that many hands make a job easy. I mean to find a solution for my severe ti itus of grade 4.
