NEW CHAIR REQUIRED AFTER THR...
Posted , 3 users are following.
Just about every chair in my house, 30 plus are now uncomfortable. despite adding cushions pads etc.
They are too high or low or too soft or without arms. I also have a smart electric recliner, but my new hip doesnt like any of the angles. After half an hour I seize up.
I am 2 week post op now.
I know this subject has been covered many times, but are there any brands or types that are recommended? I live in the UK.
Thanks.

ric22112,
I am surprised sitting on a pillow or two is not comfortable. I would not have thought it would be worth buying something that, suits someone else as it might not suit you especially, if nothing you have already is suiting you after all, a couple of weeks you will be passed the worst.

I find sitting on cushions just squashes them down, and heightens the centre of the chair, makes it unbalanced as you get up, and the arms of course are then the wrong height..

Other problem is most of my chairs do not have arms, are too soft, and the seats are too deep.

Hi, I have recently had my second hip replacement and I have no chairs in the house with arms. I tend to generally sit at the dining table when not wanting to watch TV, as you can use the table for leverage to lift yourself up. I did however recently purchase 2 Square garden cushions from one of the German supermarkets and they were ideal for the car, the garden and the dining room chairs, as they are square, they don't really squash down so much as general 'accessory' cushions so may be of help to you. I've just been out for a drive though and even though I have a low down mini, they were too bloomin high for that
