new diagnosis

The doctor has just told me she thinks I have LS, but does anyone else have discomfort in the urethra/bladder? It feels as if I have a urine infection, but I don't!! It doesn't hurt when urinating, but afterwards, also in my lower tummy.

Any comments appreciated!

It sounds a bit similiar. I get burning/pain in the urethra, and have had lower tummy pain. The weird thing is it comes and goes, as does the itching and redness, yet the dr said LS doesn't usually come and go like that. I've been checked out, and no infection or thrush, am going back thurs so will report back....

I was diagnosed with LS on Wednesday, but had been ignoring it for a couple of years, silly me. I also get the pain/burning in the urethra, it keeps me awake at night sometimes, and is temporarily relieved by passing water. Weird! There must be a link. Hope you get it sorted, ladies.

There are thyroid problems in our family and I had problem pregnancies, and not goods health since, but first went to a Dr with back and bladder pain, constipation and frequent spending pennies. Drs have not been sympathetic and have been struck off twice, so I am not a trusting patient. They tell you that you are neurotic and that it is all in the mind, and I have been placed on a variety of drugs by psychiatrists and in the end due to getting worse underneath all these drugs ended up with cancer (breast). In the end a lady GP diagnosed Lichen sclerosus, but a biopsy was taken in the outpatients and I ended up at the weekend in the A&E and sent home in a weak state and told that nothing was wrong. However they wanted a bigger piece for a biopsy which I reluctantly agreed to, and this ended my marriage (my Husbands health was also bad which I feel is caused be alcohol). Sometimes another person you live with can cause your immune system to play up and a circle of problems occur. I left my Husband in 2001 and spent a rough time in a refuge, but have had to stop him visiting after an angry flare up from him due to another chest infection, and have started divorce. I had picked up at one point after a gyny op for incontinence and prolapse repair and also later haemorroids were dealt with, but went downhill after a chest infection. The lichen Sclerosus had not been treated although I have attended Drs and most pain is in the night being back and bladder and is relieved by spending a penny which I now have to stand to pass. I also find I cannot drink as I should. I also experiance constipation and soreness and bleeding, and also upset stomache, so then up come the diagnoses of irritable colon from a DR. I attended a female Gynocologist yesterday after refusing to attend another male, and have now started on DERMOVATE, but she also feels that any surgery and the risk of infection is out as in turn antibiotics are causing me problems, she has also said no to OESTROGEN treatment. At last I have found a specialist who feels the same as I do. Having gone downhill so much and due to not being able to be as active I had to purchase a mobility scooter but still have mey electric cycle which in turn has caused problems. Has anybody got an idea for a saddle that would help. I also find plastic chairs and in the past what they make pads of, in not allowing skin to breath a problem. I am also glad to have lived to see smoking banned in public places as this did not help either. I hope some of this will be useful to some, but in turn suggestions for a saddle to aid my circulation on a bike from somebody would prove helpful, and pain is not in the mind as it is not there in the daytime so don't believe a DR that tells you this. I will also add that after the pregnancy I developed a pain in the middle of the month that also along with other symptoms got painful, and after I was sterilised worsened things further, so a warning to some women on sterilisation DON'T.
