new diagnosis hsv-2

Hi all! I was just diagnosed with type 2. And based on what I've read and some good input from solid pals, it's not the end of the world!! Initially, i was horrified, but after educating myself thru the right vessels, i have discovered life does go on! My initial outbreak was minimal, lasted 10 days with the help of anti-virals. At first, yes, I was devastated, but understood that kind of mental stress only allows the condition to ultimately take over. While everyone's situation is different, and our symptoms may vary, BE AWARE, it's simply a rash that can be spread unless cared for responsibly. You have probly read many terrifying blogs or discussions pertaining to others symptoms and experiences, keep in mind, no one is alike. Yes, I got the old "f you" from my bf that cheated on me multiple times...blame is full of shame in this game, so be up front with your future partners, avoid swimming in the vast past, it will only lead to more hurt, but do tell a previous partner if you were not aware and prepare for anything. I'm 10 days in, and I can only be positive knowing that this is a life long ordeal. My strength comes from admitting my condition to my mother, who said " I will always hug and kiss you, no matter what." That, meant the world to me after keeping this to myself, now I feel the support I was hoping for.....keep in mind, a rash n a lil pain will never change you. You are the amazing person you were before and during this small trial in life. Love yoyrself, take care of you and move forward.
