I went to Mexico in April for the Tookad VTP treatment.

It is over 5 months since having the treatment. I travelled home from the treatment 72 hours after without incidence.

I have experienced urine control issues but no leakage issues. Just had to make sure I did not delay getting to a toilet. No pain as such just an ache that subsided after approximately a month. The urine control issues have subsided over time and mostly disappeared. The main problem is erectile dysfuncion, Whilst it is not total it still persists and remains far from normal .

7 days after the procedure I had an  MRI which showed everything as expected and a PSA  test which was at 5.4 (down from 9.2 pre op) . 3 month check was all fine and PSA down to 1.24. My 6 month check is due in 3 weeks.

I under went this at 63 years old and am now 64 years old .

I am content with my decision as the alternative I was offered at home via public health was a long course of radiotherapy.

Are you happy with your decision? Would you recommend this procedure to a friend with low grade prostate cancer as an alternative to active surveillance?

Was the procedure performed in an out patient center or in a hospital setting? Do you have to pay for the service upfront? Do you think this has cured your prostate cancer?
