Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask some advice, recently I've been diagnosed with Tension Headaches I feel like a vice is squeezing my head it's not so bad in the morning but gets progressively worse throughout the day this has really caused my anxiety to kick in I can't help but think it is something alot worse as I have been getting this weird sensation in my head it's not dizziness it's like a weird shiver or a shock makes me feel a little off balance. I've never had anything like it, it gets worse as the day goes on the doctors and CT scan has come back clear but I still can't shake the tension and this weird heard feeling and that something is very wrong!

I Start CBT next week and the doctor suggested I go back onto Citalopram I am due to be going on holiday next week so they started me on 5mg just taken my first one to increase to 10mg and see how we go I'm dreading going away I'm only just about keeping myself together and I've got to try and muster the strength for my daughters sake to put a brave face on it and work through the weird head sensations. I know I should be grateful for getting a holiday so feel crap for even thinking this way.

Has anyone had this tension and weird head sensation and did Citalopram help clear it up as I assume it's caused by the anxiety?

Thanks for any support

i’m sorry you are going through this and are worried. But the CT scan would have shown something if there was anything to be concerned about. headaches caused by stress and tension can feel awful. Put every effort into relaxing your mind as much as you can and following the doctors instructions. Practice deep breathing exercises for tension. The more you worry about this the more you’re going to have those sensations.

I’ve had numerous weird head sensations on and off for years including the pressure, off-balance, and etc. I know that mine is caused by stress and anxiety.i’ve had numerous weird head sensations on and off for years including the pressure, off-balance, and etc. I know that mine is caused by stress and anxiety. Think if there’s anything going on in your life that’s causing you stress. If so, working to illuminate that or reduce it would help. I have not taken citalopram but I hope that it works for you. Everything will work out just don’t overthink it. And enjoy your holiday and family!

I have similar with my head i just dont feel right, and mines pretty much 24/7. Its like a constant dizzy pressure. I had a Botox treatment that wasnt done right and made me panic and since then ive got this feeling and similar to you im convinced its due to that even though everyone/docs says its my anxiety causing it.

It was good to see you say this time it's different in a repky as im also the same, i didnt used to get this feeling which made me convinced that its not anxiety so goes to show how anxiety is always trying to trick us! I hope the treatment helps move things forward 😃
