New hip replacement

I've seen previous discussion. I'm now 12 weeks post op. I had left hip done 2018. Now had right one. I was doing OK but the pain at night is unbearable. I've tried diazepam, tramadol, codeine, tracadil, solpadeine and nothing helps. I'm depressed, crying all the time, doing Excercises twice day, even had extra physio which did nothing but make it worse. I'm now wishing my leg would be amputated as I cannot see it improving. I never had issue with first hip and I just don't want to carry on living like this. I'm ex pat from UK and I live in sicily. I regret the surgery but was told I had oatenecrosis. Is anyone in sane situation?

Hi Nicole I am very sorry to read of the pain you are in. I am not in the same situation and I had not heard of osteonecrosis but, after having looked it up, it seems that you had little choice but to have the operation.

You do not say if you are having specialist support, or treatment, post-op but if you are not perhaps you should consider getting help. Possibly the osteonecrosis is causing this terrible pain? There might be other treatments that could help you.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I can relate as I am currently in pain, just finding out the cup of my hip is loose due to bone loss. I have pain and inflammation on many days. Have you tried icing your hip? I find that helpful for me. Please please talk to someone and reach out to your surgeon or even get a second opinion, MRI, ect.. Don't give up. My prayers are with you. take care.
