New IOLs?

Posted , 6 users are following.

For those who will need a cataract surgery in the next few years, Eyedeal xPIB may be a new, better option. The Chinese company is developing a new material, supposedly better than all currently available IOLs in the market. High Abbe number, small incision, big optics, no dysphotopsia, etc. Will see.

I was just reading about the Juvene trials, wondering when it would get FDA approval, and also wondering what else was in the pipeline Thanks for posting this.

Juvene is tempting, but I think that what humans need first is a 100% issue-free monofocal IOL. That's what we still don't have. Even this. Searching through forums you can get impression that there are tons of people being wronged by virtually every IOL.

They say 6.5 but "can be even bigger due to its flexibility".

There also is a new presbyopia IOL option from Lenstec called ClearView 3, which is a no line multifocal approved by the FDA this past summer.
