New lenses

I don't know if anyone out there can answer this, I am now on 10mg of pred, seem to be going ok  I have followed lots of advice on this forum and listen to my body. I am due to have new Multifocal lenses      In September, my worry is about GCA, so many on this forum have developed it or diagnosed with it,that I am worried about having lens replacements, if I am taking long term pred .

Thank youm

Sorry I think I did not make myself clear, I am not getting new glasses as I already have varifocals. I am going to have an operation to change my lenses by laser, hence no more glasses. Wondered if anyone else on this forum who suffers from PMR has had it done. I already had the start of cataracts, surgeon thinks it will be ok but he Does not know about PMR or the effectes of pred. Wondered if one ofyou very knowledgable people on this wonderful forum.

    Thank you

Won't cataract removal actually do for you what laser would do?  Why not just have the cataract operation and "see" what that does for you?  Many people no longer need glasses at all after cataract removal.  My husband still wears his but I think it's out of habit because he forgot to wear them to work a couple of times and he was able to both drive and work at a computer without any trouble at all!
