New Lichen Sclerosus Diagnosis - HELP

Posted , 3 users are following.

I really don't even know where to begin with this post as this condition has taken over my life over the past 6 months.

Basically I have had a burning/sore pain around my urethra/vaginal entrance since October. After months of antibiotics, thrush medication, being sent to STD clinics, a misdiagnosis (Vulvodynia) and a trip to a&e I finally have a supposedly correct diagnosis of Lichen Sclerosus but unfortunately I don't feel any closer to being cured of the pain that has taken over my life.

I've been on dermovate steroid ointment for 2 and a half weeks and have been in somewhat less pain but after a short walk yesterday my pain has been excruciating.

I know you're all not doctors but I've had no luck with my GP in finding answers as to why I'm still racked with pain, should I feeling better by now? I'm 28 years old and otherwise relatively healthy but unable to work due to having an active role. I've bought YES intimate wash and vaginal moisturiser but washing with Epaderm and using it as a moisturiser is the only thing giving me somewhat of a relief at the minute.

In regards to underwear I honestly can't wear them most days, however, I have cotton pants and wash my underwear only in water and use a soft microfibre towel when drying myself off after a shower. We have a problem with excess lint in our washing machine, has anyone else experienced this agitating the lichen? I know this might seem like a random question but at this stage I'm questioning everything that may be making my pain worse.

If any of you have found ways with making your pain more tolerable any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

hi there! i bought Emuaide i put it on the inside of my lips the outside around my clitoris and at the base of the entrance. it took two weeks but its do much improved! also try soaking in borax or baking soda using a sitz bath. this will help tons.

Sorry to hear how bad it is for you, based on my own experience I can only suggest you try using more Epaderm, put a generous thick layer on immediately after you apply the Dermovate each time, it does help to soothe. You may need to wear a pantyliner as it can be messy, and/or do it just before you go to sleep each night. Hope that may help to make you a little more comfortable.
