I'm using borax for an extensive period of time already and I can honestly say that it helps to keep LS at bay. Originally I started with baking soda baths and rinses. So now and then I switch from borax to baking soda again. Depending how my bottom part looks and LS acts. Remember that LS is not cured by it, but kept in check.

Same here....with hottest water I can stand. I alternate from Borax & baking soda seitz baths a couple times a week.... also alternate Clobetisol, alternate days with a premarin cream, and coconut oil. so far it keeps it handled. but if I wear clothes too tight it really brings on a flare up.

amy, if you look through old discussions you will probably find many on the topic.

It absolutely helped me right from the

beginning of using it! I continue to use Borax in a Sitz bath as needed and have usually had relief within a day or two!

    God bless you

I have a small spray bottle with a weak borax solution in it and spray after every toilet visit. It's helped loads. I think it neutralizes the urine or something. Definitely recommend it.

I have found that just plain hydrocortisone cream and vaseline work well! The Clob cream is almost too strong. I am also using an estrogen cream once a day. I will continue the borax bath because it did give relief and will try the spray bottle method too! thank you to all of you for responding! no one i know really seems to understand the misery of LS!

amy. I was never prescribed the clob. I use a weaker steroid Triamcinolone and it has worked well. I also am using hormone cream. Do you have atrophy as well?

amy. do you use estradiol? Were you using it for any length of time before being diagnosed with LS?

Yes, Estradiol. No, I never used it before being DX with LS. I was just DX last Wedn.

amy, just to clarify, you were using neither the steroid nor the hormone cream until the LS diagnosis? I use the hormone cream for atrophy. Were you told you have atrophy and therefore are to use the estradiol?

I was diagnosed with atrophy several years ago but was hoping to avoid using hormones. Have no choice now. My gyn said in my case the LS was caused by low estrogen. Is that what you were told?

I do not have atrophy. I was not using the creams before the LS diagnos.I was told my LS was caused by low estrogen.

That's interesting. I had asked my gyn if the hormone cream would treat the LS and said no; only the steroid would.

Had a new plumber to the house this morning and heard the umpteenth theory on how to solve a perpetual heating problem. I guess the two "arts" are comparable 😉
