New medication

So I’m going to my doctor today to talk about my medication. I’m on 200mg of sertraline and have been for about a year now but it’s having no effect anymore. I am very short tempered and easily irritated, having full blown rage filled mood swings and I don’t know what to do. I’m in therapy and take my medication every day. In the past have been on fluoxetine, mirtazapam, citalopram and now sertraline.

What else can they offer me?

My current diagnosis is BPD PTSD general anxiety disorder and depression.

I am literally going out of my mind losing it everyday, some times I really feel the need to hurt people( I haven’t though) or hurt myself. (Trying to avoid self harm relapse as much as possible).

Not only that but sertraline gives me unbearable spasms that interrupts my sleep, even taking sleeping tablets don’t help.

I feel like I’m losing touch with “reality” a lot, and to be honest don’t know sometimes weather I’m dreaming or awake if that makes sense? My anger is becoming very prominent, I nearly got kicked out of thearapy and I can’t even remember what triggered me..

also in the two years I have been taking sertraline I have gained two

Stone which is a right pain because I’m very insecure about my body..

I’m not sure what to do, I feel like the anti depressence isn’t going to work anymore as I’ve been on various different ones going up to highest doses since I was 12.. but I don’t know what other type of medication they can give me that will help all of my issues, my main problem with sertraline is my angery outbursts, it’s literally every single day some days up to 5 times and the anger and

Rage and negative thoughts last a few hours each time. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated

How are you doing? Ask your doctor for pharmacogenetic analysis before he prescribes you another drug. It determines how effective the medicine is for you and all possible side effects. Then your doctor may use this information to adjust the medication dose or sometimes to choose a different drug. I am sure there's no point in experimenting with your body.
