New meds prescribed Duloxetine/cymbalta, having some side effects

I was prescribed Duloxetine yesterday, to go off the pregabalin. So I took one yesterday and felt a little sick a few hours later. Have had more of a restless night than usual, and today my tastebuds have been off, so I haven't eaten properly. These are side effects, but do they happen this quickly? If it's not one thing it's another. I hate this! I hope I get a rheumatology appointment, probably be 3 months but hopefully it'll be sooner...

I was on Duloxetine for a while.  I didnt have any physical problems but i was emotional and stressed and really quite horrible,  I hadnt noticed my behaviour had changed so dramaticaly, I was so depressed and in a state of not coping,  I am now on Fluoxetine once a day for depression and back on Amitriptyline at night for twitching and nerve pain, which suits me.  I think everyone is different but whenever anyone starts new meds especially antidepressants i would advise to please tell someone close to you to watch  out for mood changes.  Good luck and remember to go back to your gp if you dont feel they are helping.

Give it a week or two to settle down and if it doesn't go back to doctors, but at least you can say you gave it a good try. Good luck

Morning Oompa; yes, I too, found Cymbalta to have the same effect on me.  The dry mouth etc wasn't my issue, but the Real Mood changes were what stopped me from continuing.  I found mysel   "crying all the time" for no reason.  This really got to me, and as it was doing Nothing for my pain levels, did as Teddy41 said: went back onto Amitriptylline (and sometimes suplement with others like Gabapentin and a similar anti-depressant).   When we realize that our depressive moments come from our pain (and not the other way around), then it is easier to work through the bad moments, if our pain is controlled adequately.

?Perhaps another visitto t the person who prescribed your Cymbalta, and tell them "that most of us Fibro patients have Not found Cymbalta or Lyrica of much use".  It seems that someone who feels they are in the know, recomends these meds, but really do not have the desired results.                   Good luck,   Bron

DONT take it! It's useless and it messes your brain chemistry up. I started on 120mg three months ago. Started ok then I'm awake all night with suicidal thoughts and life is ok at the moment. I'm now in withdrawal and I feel brain damaged.

This rubbish is given to people they have given up on and the pharmaceutical companies offer the doctors a day of golf or something when they SELL it.

demand to see your doctor again this stuff is pretty evil. Only when you stop the paranoia and suicidal ideation will start. If you google it you will see many people have taken Eli Lilly to court regarding its permanent brain damage and intolerable human suffering due to with drawls.

REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION

quicker you get off it the less you will have to suffer with hideous mental and physical withdrawals on top of a crippling disability.

    wishing you lots of love

    xx

Oh my goodness EarthaKitt, thank you for sharing. I just felt really awful taking them, not being able to taste food, constantly feeling drowsy and well as I mentioned I pretty much slept the weekend away.

I feel like there seems to be nothing for us and so what are we supposed to do?

Thanks for the info, back to gp again!
