New Member Untreated Lumbar Radiculopathy

Hello Everyone,

I'm from around upstate NY. I am a NYSEMT. I also suffer from Spinal Degenerative disorders with multi surgeries. Current situation is experiencing severe disabling pain from Lumbar Radiculopathy , caused by severe stenosis of the right L3-4 neuro foramina space. With the image i included, we can clearly see Adjacent Segment Disease. MRI reports also Retrolisthesis of L2 on L3 & L3 on L4 image

patient history:

2001 diagnosed w/ D.D.D. SURGERY Anterior Spinal Fusion of L4-5 with intervertebral Disc Spacer

patience symptoms improved for 10 yrs

2011 Experienced recurrent back pain, perticipated in all non invasive treatments, did not work, SURGERY for post laminectomy syndrome Posterior Fusion W/Bilateral rods, pedicle screws

Patience symptoms improved. 2018 recurrent back pain, seen Neurosurgery for disabling pain, could not help me so I had spinal shots with no help. lived with pain until recently 10/2021

patience got new MRI Lumbar scans and report states Moderate to severve stenosis of L3-4 right neuro foramen with severe vertebral disc height loss along with moderate retrolisthesis

2 Nerosurgeons and a Orthopedic Dr will not operate, at least do a decompression of that area of severity L3-4 . I clearly have Radiculapayhy because on my EMG test, I had Peripheral Poly Neuropathy Symptoms of the right lower extremity. Along with severe pain.

My issue, I'm no doctor, but i do have medical experience, 20 yr spinal issues and treatments, NYSEMT for 8 yrs, and I can tell something is going on in this new MRI scan image. I can see I have instability in my lower spine. I feel these Drs will not work on me because of previous surgeries. I understand I do not have central stenosis of the main spinal column, but this pain is too much to take.

Im on daily Hydrocone so I guess i have to disguse the pain and live with severe stenosis. And if you remember the saying, stenosis left untreated can turn into perminant nerve damage. (like the Neuropathy I have now).

Frustrated Patient!!
