New, need help

Hello, I have suffered from panic disorder for about 5 years now. At times it has been really bad. I have tried antidepressants, citalopram and fluoxetine, also cbt. I think these helped to an extent but the anxiety and panic attacks have never really left me and now I am bad again. I have researched this medication and lots of people say it really helped them but the intial side effects are terrible so I obviously worry about that but am willing to go through the side effects if this has a high chance of working. I know everyone reacts to medication differently but would like to know how other people have been on it. ( After getting used to it) thanks

    Hi

which medication have you researched, I am on 100mg sertraline daily and I think it may be starting to work, hope I haven't jinxed myself, the side effects for me were the worst thing ever, like you I have tried numerous ADs and up to now this one seems ok.

Fluoxitine and citalopram I got very angry on them.

like you said everyone is different to how they react on medication.

      Hi rachel

i have been on them reluctantly for two and half months, hard to tell some weeks feel ok some not so good, had phone assessment for CBT today, she wants to call my GP and talk about possible bi polar.

I haven't been right since I was about 11 and it's just escalated from there, getting really bad outburst or severe depression, been on loads of ADs none worked also councilling, still not helpful.

i have heard that it can take a couple of months to feel the full effects.

      keep up the good work.

I have only really researched the ones mentioned. Don't want to take anything like Valium as I know they can be addictive.
