New Rezum

i just had Rezum done . painful as hell. i figure 3 steps back to go 5 steps forward. I had catheter in for recommended 4 days. After Catheter taken out very weak stream but able to go no blood at all. 3 hours later totally shut down. 2nd catheter put in this time for a week. Had catheter taken out peed alittle better, but after 7 hours totally shut down and emergency catheter at hospital. I have now 12 days with catheter... when will this end????

    Not for awhile if they keep handling it the way they've been doing things. Have your uro teach you to self-cath. After removing the Foley, if you lock up, self cathing will solve the problem without a bag attached to your leg and allow you to live normally.

    You're in that middle phase where you can void sometimes but not others. Self cathing will allow you to pee if you can and turn it into a non issue if you can't. No more trips to the ER. There are portable caths that are pre lubed that will fit into a jacket pocket or a sock. I insisted on self cathing after my Rezum and I was a long recovery, 3-4 weeks before I was safe on my own without the cath. But I worked out heavily, did business travel including conferences and client dinners and had sex during the self cathing recovery phase.
