New SVT?

i am a 27 year old female yesterday while sitting at work my heart raced and i got hot and dizzy. My heart rate went up to 150 but I was able to convert myself back. Today I had two episodes of this. My pcp is getting me a cardiac monitor to wear to try and catch the arrhythmia. My question is, since this all just began and I’ve now had it twice in a row, could this become a daily pattern? Need advice!

Thanks!

    Hi there,

Scaring you is not my intension, but it is possible. From my experience, it was getting more frequent. Your case might not be the same. Are you going to see a cardiologist?

It could become a daily deal, a never again, or anywhere in between. It may be difficult to do so, but please try to minimize your anxiety until you hear all you can from your health care practitioners. There's a high probability that you'll hear some promising news from them. Much can now be done for most dysrhythmias. In my 50 years of SVT, I've gone from "we don't know what it is, your heart handles it well, now go fly a military airplane" to two ablations, the second of which seems to have truly cured it. I'm very optimistic for you, and counting on you to take good care of yourself.

A drop in blood pressure can cause those symptoms. So can anxiety. It's not necessarily anything to do with your heart conduction.

Once you've worn the heart monitor and have an indication of what is happening at the time the heart is racing then you might be able to get answers to your questions about how often it could happen.
