New symptom recovering from ORIF of ankle - toes itching

I've had numbness in my ankles and toes since surgery most likely secondary to general edema and edema at some of the points where the sensory nerves enter the foot applying pressure.  Just this week however I've developed unbearably itchy toes  enough to wake me up at night.  I'm treating them with a topical anesthetic then following with an antifungal just in case all the wrapping up I've been doing has set up a fungal infection between my toes (though there isn't any cracking)

    Hi,

I am about 12 weeks post op, but I also developed extremely itchy toes, and around the incision sites on both sides of my ankle, I would take bath's and try to exfoliate the areas using a poof sponge, as my ankle still hurt, so did it gently. eventually I had peeling and flaking of what appeared to be some sort of glue they used during my surgery, as it did not look like dry skin at a closer look. I had this intense itch for days until I was able to peel all of the glue like stuff of my foot, which took a few days at a time in itself since I didn't use any products to help get it off. They never warned me this would happen, so it caught me by surprise, to find out it was an itchy glue they used. I just know my skin felt normal after getting it all off my ankle/foot area. I hope this helps. Good luck in your recovery.
