New symptoms

Hey guys,

I've had crohns for a while now, but recently I've been having a bit of diarrhoea and bleeding which I know is normal for a Crohn's disease patient. In addition to the diarrhoea and bleedin (this might be TMI to some) it seems like it's might be slightly foamy. And It's also slightly yellowish green.

I also have a feeling I've been having mucus in the diarrhoea to but I'm not sure what mucus looks like and if it is actually mucus. So I'd appreciate it very much if someone could maybe tell me if they've had the same issues as me or could this maybe be associated with IBS

Thank you

    Hi Micky

Sorry to hear about your symptoms and yes it is normal for Crohn's. However you really MUST get yourself to your Consultant or GP at the very least and let them know what is happening. Blood in the stool is never a 'normal' thing and needs attention.

It might be internal piles or a fissure, but equally it could be worse..... Please go and get it checked. And good luck.

      Hey,

Thanks for the reply. I'm relevead that what I mentioned is a symptom of crohns.

I've told my consultants and surgeons so many times but they just will not listen.

I had surgery done just a year ago. So they think that it might be to early for me to have symptoms. Which does make sense in a way. However after surgery there should be some sort of a test such as a colonoscopy or MRI... Within 6 months to rule out that crohns is back. I've asked them a hundred times for one but they kept saying we highly doubt it that you have Crohn's disease again.

I had a stool sample and also blood tests done. The stool sample came up with high inflammation rate. My blood tests were very abnormal too.

So I don't understand what I'm supposed to do.

Now I have a appointment set out for next month. If they don't do anything there I am going to look out for a new consultant.

But thank you very much for your reply I highly appreciate it because it's put my mind at ease

    Hi Micky,

Sorry for what you are going through,

From what I understand it sounds as though it's possible it could be Chrones related. It would be a good idea to seek a second opinion with your symptoms and abnormal test results. It isn't something that should be ignored by your consultant. I hope everything goes well. Good luck.

      Hey penny,

Thank you for your reply. Yes I understand what you mean. I guess it could be crohns again. Il probably seek a second opinion soon. However I'm moving to Brazil soon to Pursue my career. So I'm not sure if I can find one in time before I leave. I've already looked for some consultants in Brazil but I don't think they know much about this disease over there compared to here.

But anyway thank you so much for your reply.

    Hi Micky,

Just an afterthought. Maybe you could check with the Chrones/Colitis Foundation if there is one available. They usually have updated information regarding treatments, symptoms etc. I know they can't dx. but they might be able to point you in the right direction. It might be worthwhile especially given that you are moving to another country. Also it might be an idea to look into medical coverage j if you haven't already. I'm not sure what Brazil's medical system is like. Good luck.

      Hey,

Thank you for that thought. I only just realised that. That's a great idea. My fiend works for them so I've emailed him about the issues and about me travelling and that I need medical support over there. Thank you again
