After being on Zoloft for 15years, and tried to get off three times unsuccessfully, one thing I've learned -  choose a time in your life when you feel relatively healthy and in control.  Not when you are undergoing a life change or have big stressors.  Otherwise you are pulling the rug out from under yourself.

since you are stressed about your son, maybe now isn't the time to try to withdraw from Sertraline.  Keep in close touch with your doctor. He can adjust dosages.  I'm not familiar with citalapram.

Good luck. Try to love your struggling self.  Breathe deeply A LOT.

      Hi

As you've been on sertraline so long just wondering if you could give me a bit of advice

This is my 12th week on sertraline 5 weeks on 50mg then 4 weeks on 100mg I was getting numb/foggy head so doctor said the dose was to high so I went down to 75mg just over 2 weeks I was not feeling better so doctor said go back to 100mg do you think things sould be getting better by now ? How long before it worked for you ?

I was on Prozac and Celexa (don't take!) before Zoloft. I felt better in a week, no problems.  In two weeks you should feel the difference in a dosage change.  Sure can't say why you aren't.  Sorry it's so hard!  We all want to feel like ourselves!

You know, I went down to 50 mg and felt great.  Maybe you need less?  Just a guess.
