hi Bobbir.....welcome to a very informative, supportive forum. we've all got our own stories, filled with our own ups and downs, side effects, moods, etc.
however, there's always a common thread running thru, PMR/prednisone.
I've been dealing with this rollercoaster since 4/17....started at 15mg pred, now hanging in at about 5mg.
I've had all kinds of crummy side effects from the prednisone, but other's not so much.
anyway, you've come to the right place.
ask away!

yes GCA and PMR can bring you down , but we are here to help. I came down with both at age 63 am now 68 and managing the 2 diseases fine. it is important to get your health under control 1st!!!
It may take 1, 2, or even 5 years to do that depending on your circumstances. IST order of business is to get a experienced DR for your condition.

I had GCA for 5 years, I also ran a support group.
You need to ask the questions..................so we can give positive feedback.
There also might be an actual support group near you . To find out put PMR GCA UK Registered charity, in your search engine and look it up.
You will survive it is not life threatening, just life changing. You are dealing with and auto-immune illness which has a mind of its own...............you have to learn to live with it. It does become more easy.
Knowledge is power.

bobbir, welcome to the club hope your journey is a smooth one. I been on my journey for 3 1/2 years. I learned a few things along the way, learn to listen to your body; do not rush your tapers, you can be pushed into a flare. Try to stay active, positive and smile it helps. Smiling at you 🙂

Please tell us more about yourself - symptoms, when diagnosed and so on. If you have a specific question (or 40) please ask it because a few of us could write for hours but still not answer YOUR problem.
