New to Sertraline

Hi all

I went to my doctor yesterday about my depression and he changed my tablets from Fluoxatine to Sertraline (Lustral) 100mg a day! Is this alot considering I was only on 20mg of Fluoxitine a day?

I have been suffering with depression for some time now but did not find that the fluoxatine tablets were much good.

Has anybody else think along the same line?

I to am on 50mg a day and have been taking them for a week now.

Following the horrible side effects of Fluoxetine, the only side effects with these are still just the nausea and headache - although annoying, they are still manageable.

Hi.Thank you both for your reply.I have been on them a week now and feeling ok. I occasionally get the odd sudden shiver but seem ok so far.Apparently it could be a week or two more before they really start to work fully, at least that is what my doctor said..........so just wait and see.

Nearly 2 weeks now - nausea & headache still there, with the very occasional migraine.

The most annoying thing now, is that I just want to sleep all the time - especially mid-afternoon, not easy to do at work!! I get up in the morning still feeling tired even though I have had a good night of uninterrupted sleep.

Most probably the body trying to catch up with 18 months of poor sleep.
