New to sertraline 50mg (skipped doses accidentally)

I'm a new user with sertraline, it's my first antidepressant ever used in my life. Basically I have been using for around 3 weeks but in this time I have singularly skipped doses twice and also missed 2 days in a row (due to in a rush to leave for work) . After only 2-3 days of use I immediately felt more energy within myself and felt positive about what was to come, but the past 2 days it seems I feel worse than or just as bad as I was before! Just wondered if missing the doses has had an impact on me? Or could it just be they've took a while longer to start having a reverse effect? Like before I can get better if that makes sense. I understand everybody reacts differently but just wondered if anybody has had a similar experience and may be able to shed some light?

Hi luke I too started feeling better within days of been on sertraline but into wk 2 I had the worst side effects ever, I was unable to climax with my GF constant shaking and headaches rendered me useless in daily life, Speak to your GP about how u feel and maybe like me you'll have to switch meds, GL in your recovery mate 👍👍

Hi Paul thanks for reply, I don't blame you mate that must have been scary and I'd have done the same, only my symptoms are different and I feel like sticking it out for abit longer as I say they seemed to give me a new lease of life at first but I'm thinking it could have been a placebo effect as my thoughts are racing and it's frustrating stuff, but thanks again and I wish you all the best too buddy!

I think its maybe just to do with the way ad work u get good days then awful days u dont improve in a straight line its a roller coaster skipping dose wont really have much effect but in the intial recovery period u need to try and take them consistsntly or it'll take longer to feel ok

Yeah your probably right I'm just new to all this and looking for answers it's good to talk to like minded people as I'm still quiet about it with people I'm close to. Thanks for advice!

I'm new to this as well mate only been 7wks for me, admitting there's a problem is the hardest part of it all, I've been suffering for yrs but would never accept that I was " one of them people", I've always been the person that people come to for everything but little did I know I needed help more than anyone. I stumbled across this site and it certainly helps to talk.

I couldn't have worded that better myself mate pretty stoked, mines mainly social anxiety, paranoia but self inflicted or heightened by years of weed abuse, what's your problem and what are you trying instead of sertraline? How's things?

Mines been bottled up for over 20yrs since my brother was killed and cocaine and alcohol issues, I get paranoia in large groups which makes me lash out I can't control my anger to the point where my GF wants me to section myself, ive got a meeting with mental health psychologist on the 23rd so hopefully they're more understanding than my GP.

Mate that's crazy I've also lost a brother to drugs and I think that's where my problems got a lot worse, I also have a hulk anger mode but it takes a lot or certain type of thing to make me tick I've been to prison 3 times over it, I still need anger management to this day but mental health causes barriers, hang in there bro, there's plenty of help if we just accept it

This past bank holiday I actually pulled a taxi driver out of car and wouldn't stop hitting him, my GF & mum were both crying but I just can't stop if someone disrespects me or my family.

That's not good mate, I have read that these tablets can make you angry also, maybe try keep away from situations until your feeling abit more in control, don't wanna end up in a cell, haven't found these to make me angry so far, keep cool mate your missus an fam don't wanna see you suffer worse symptoms inside!

Try and take your meds at same time everyday this way it becomes a routine at the set time u choose.

Yeah I'm gonna try take it as soon as I wake up from now on can't be skipping days anymore as it's clearly messing with me

Put a note on the fridge so when u go for a juice on a morning it reminds u to take meds, after a while it will become 2nd nature.
