I am a senior citizen who was diagnosed with both kyphoscoliosis and lumbar spondylolistheses earlier this year when my back pain became so unbearable I couldn't walk. My orthopedist said I could have a Cortisone injection to tide me over for several months or have an operation. I decided not to put off the inevitable, but to have the operation as soon as possible. I am fitted with titanium rods and screws placed by a robot from the upper part of my back all the way down to my sacrum. Long recovery, but it was worth having it done. I was in a hard-cover back brace at first (Just for daytime), then a fabric brace and am now out of the brace and going to physical therapy to get my abdominal and back muscles back into shape. Don't be afraid to do what you have to do if it means getting your life (and hopefully your old job) back. Write down any questions, as I did, when visiting your doctor, so you will have the whole picture. Get a second opinion if you need to, but don't delay. You have to get fixed! Good luck and keep in touch.

I'm from the USA, had so many injections that the Dr suggested to do the trial nerve stimulator, did get some relief and I hope in 11 days when I get the permanent one I will get some relief, I've heard good news from people on here that have had the procedure done, which in the u.k has had the nevro senza for awhile and USA is just getting it, they were using medtronics for the longest time, but from what I heard you feel it and it makes noises, the one I'm getting is qiuet and no feeling of it being in there. did u have sedation with your back injections and how did you feel after?

Yes I had sedation and was a little sore in the injection site, I don't know what the procedure is in the u.k but here you have a choice of sedation or none, I always picked sedation cuz I didn't want to feel a thing or see a thing, plus if I go on my stomach my nerves jump uncontrollably so I have to be sedated so I don't move, when are you going for your procedure?
