You will be ok and if it doesnt work they get you on the right thing. best to start on low doses to so the sideeffects are minimal and they can track how you feel

SNRI are similar to SSRI but probably alot more suited to heavy depression as it has to components. My friend who is a mental health charge  nurse says they are very very good in severe depression.

But like all anti depressant you should ease yourself on and off them accordingly with help from GP. I would get some counselling or talk therapies to if you can. A referral from your gp will sort this and they should be pleased if you havent done this already as it show you want to solve and close problems

Over the 20 years I took anti deporessants, some worked and others gave me bad side effects.  Yes we do find that some just do not suit us.  So annoying, as takes about 6 weeks usually before we begin to feel better.

You say 3rd time lucky.  What are you taking now?

This is normal when you start as Venflaxine is a SNRI. So has to active ingredients serotonin and norepinephrine.

Your bod ( brain in particular ) has to get used to the fact it get kick started and the mood balancing begins. It will get better. take some parcetemol and if you can just have an easy day

Donna as you know anti depressants can take up to 8 weeks before they start working, and often you will feel worse before you feel better.

I was on Venlafaxine.  If you withdraw really slowly from it you will not get any withdrawals.  I took 10 months and was fine.  Hope you feel better soon.  Don't worry about stopping it, just give it time to work and see how you go.

      Take care
