Hello, I've recently been diagnosed with depression. Someone suggested joining a forum and talking to other people. Would be nice to talk to people about things and possibly learn more.

    The nice thing about forums, is you have as much anonymity as you want.

    Though a little fore information might help. Has your GP or a specialist diagnosed you. Are you or any medication and are you on any therapy.

    Well Faith, you have come to the right place!  As you get to know people, you can also private message them is you want to discuss things you would rather not discuss openly.

    I have suffered a type of depression my whole life, as far back as I can remember, which is far.  It is like carrying a low grade fever all the time.  I have had peaks and valleys and even deeper valleys.  I do take antidepressants and I have read every self help book possible and have had lots of therapy throughout the years.  Right now I am battling extra depression in conjunction with some surgeries I had to undergo.

    My Gp diagnosed me a couple months ago and I'm currently going through therapy (cognitive behavioual therapy). I'm currently taking Fluoxetine, I was taking something else but it wasn't working. 

    I have up and down days, I try to stay positive by keeping busy and talking to my family members as some of them have been diagnosed to.
