Hello everyone . I was diagnosed with this 2 weeks ago and am reading as much as i can about bronchiectasis. I have also got multiple myeloma and following a Stem Cell Transplant in May 23 I developed a very bad infection and after 6 months of coughing my consultant referred me to the respiratory consultant.

He gave e me carbocisteine and a course of Doxycycline . Ive also been referred to physio but no appointment yet. How can I help myself with this condition, any tips would be welcome . Thank you.

Avoid ALL exposure to perfumes/colognes/after shave/room sprays/candles, and dust, and chemicals. If you are in the States where people think it's a great idea to use the pulmotoxic chemicals that can make perfumes last for months in myriad laundry/room products, you'll have to find a way to avoid those. Don't use highly perfumed soaps/shampoos on yourself. Be very careful & highly selective about household cleaners. I think that a lot of things we face in the States on a daily basis are banned in Europe, but i'm not certain.

I can't do much exercise, but if you can walk and/or swim, those are great exercises.
