Hi April,
it really depends from person to person. The first week is very strange, I was really jittery and had heaps or energy pretty much straight away. I completely lost my appetite but I was lucky not to have any sickness, but it was a strange first 6 weeks. I would say avoid alcohol whilst on Sertraline, particularly in the beginning.
I will be honest weeks 4 and 5 were awful for me, but perserve because it does get better. If you dont have any side affects, don't worry...you're lucky 😃 But also don't worry if odd side affects (increasef anxiety, trouble sleeping) do pop up in later weeks x

how long have you been on it now? i took my 4th dose of 12.5 last night. i dont drink due to my vomit phobia and also why im starting this low so i can gradually increase it into my system, hopefully to lessen nausea. i am pretty scared. i felt sick the past few days but that could have been my anxiety about taking it x

Hi April,
I've been on it 5 months in total, 2 months on the higher dose. In the beginning I did feel sick, but I was never physically. It was like nausea replaced the anxiety, unfortunately it does take time to settle. The first few weeks can be rough so increasing gradually is sensible. I would suggest sticking it with it if you can, I was skeptical but it has really helped me. I also found that keeping a diary helps too. We are all different but it can be scary, so keep talking about it 😃 Sertraline can make you feel buzzed and jittery, hence the feeling of panic, but it does calm down x

Hi April,
well usually within the first few days, but it really depends on the person. i first noticed them THE second day, it became more noticable. i couldnt sleep right through kept waking, dry moth.. -Jaw clenching!and some nausea at times.. and it has at times increased my anxiety. However some people dont experience this at all. Sonit really depends on the person. Hownlong have you been taking it..? 😃 xo

i have an extreme vomit phobia and its taken me 11 long horrid months to find the courage to take the sertraline. i took my 4th dose last night of 12.5. ive decided to start low and slow to try and lessen any side effects. today is the first time out of my bed since tuesday. the days have been filled with extreme anxiety and panic but that could just be because im scared of the side effects of vomiting. i didnt sleep wednesday and thursday i havent eaten until last night. i hate the mind 😦
