New to this, first outbreak

went to the doctor last week and was told i had herpes after my first outbreak started a week before. he gave me an antiviral prescription and its helped tremendously but now i just itch like crazy down there and i get this weird feeling on the inside where it sort of tickles? i dont know how to describe it. and its constant. is this normal? when does this feeling go away? its the only discomfort i have ever since i started taking the medication. ive called the nurse about it and she says that it means its probably healing but i wanna know what other people feel when its in the healing stage.

    i have this too and my nurse said exactly the same. i guess we just give it more time to heal.
