    Hi Vero,

Some of us have discussed PRP on this site. The problem is finding a doctor who is willing to administer the injections. I have been searching for 5 months now and have only come up with spas that give the O-shot for sexual dysfunction, not for lichen sclerosis. Some women have gotten the shots as part of a study and some have gotten them from doctors because of extreme symptoms where nothing else was working. These were in states I am not in.

I wanted to get the treatment now to prevent my symptoms from getting worse, but so far no luck. I did find one MD who runs a spa who said to get PRP without laser would be a waste of money (and a good deal of money it was)!

Found a gyn in a neighboring state who administers the shots for women with extreme LS symptoms only. Neither of these docs said it could be covered by insurance. The gyn/med world seems to be very slow on the uptake with this treatment. I find it very odd & frustrating as PRP has been used for sports injuries for 20 years. It is also used to treat ocular disease

There is a Dr Runels in AL who started the Vampire facelift and the O-shot using PRP, but he doesn't seem to be dealing directly with patients now. Instead he is promoting the O-shot as a business venture. He is extremely sympathetic to women's problems though.

If you get any leads do let us know.

Awww so frustrating!!! I'll let you know if I hear anything about this. After my op I will try chinese herbal medicine, I've heard it helped a few people.

You're having an operation? Is this LS related?

I took chinese herbs for fibroids that weren't discovered until menopause. Gyn sent me to an oncologist after months for a 2nd opinion. She wanted me to have a complete hysterectomy. Never went back. Saw an acupuncturist and took the herbs instead; fibroids shrunk to half their size. Unfortunately , she didn't recommend any for LS. I did get yin oil from her which I use. It's an olive oil base with chinese medicine which could be herbs (the names are chinese so I have no idea).
