New update on my hernia

Hey all,just wanted to again firstly thank everyone who has given me their advice,and told me their experiences,I really do appreciate it.I have good news I went to see a specialist today about my hernia,he gave me an examination,which during it I did scream in pain,the specialist has now confirmed that the pains I’ve been getting,and still get,are because of my hernia.So happy as he has said that I will be referred to have an operation to fix my hernia,just got to wait for my surgery date,but I’ve said from the moment I was diagnosed with my hernia in August last year,that it’s been my hernia causing me these stomach pains all along

    Yes, congratulations on being referred for surgery, good news indeed. Much like you, my hernias were causing a great deal of abdominal pain for well over 2 years. I don't remember if I have talked to you before. What kind of hernia do you have? Mine were along an incision in my abdomen. When I finally lost enough weight for my surgeon to do the surgery, the two hernias had formed one large one. It was pretty big, it looked like I had a strange alien baby poking through my tummy! Haha.

    Had my surgery performed as an open hernia repair with mesh. Boy, the recovery for me was a bugger! I really had a hard time afterwards for months. But hey, now, 9 months later, I am so glad that I had the surgery. I think you will be glad too. You will probably feel tons better.

      Thank you mylighthouse,mine is an umbilical hernia,and my surgery is going to be open surgery,with stitches or mesh,not going to lie I’m scared about the surgery,but I need it done

    Make sure you find a dr that operates on the stomach not one that can do any surgery’s you need a stomach dr don’t just let anyone do it you will really regret it there is a woman that had it on this site and she has lost way to much weight can’t keep anything down throws up all day everyday beware do your homework

      Hi Tammy,thanks I will definitely make sure I get a doctor that operates on the stomach,I have faith in the hospital I’ll be having my operation at,as I had keyhole surgery at this hospital on my left knee almost 8 years ago
