I have just been prscribed this med 25mg am and 25mg pm, it definatly knocks me out of a night, I take it for severe anxiety, after 4 years of battling with about 8 different antidpressants. Had to come off venlofaxine because I was alllergic to it and ended up in hospital, and 3 weeks on escitalopram had the same effect, so now I am withdrawing from escitalopram take my last on sunday, and will not be taking anymore antidepressants, I also take slow release propanolol and diazapine, originally I was only taking the quetiapine at night for last 4 weeks seen the psych dr last wednesday and stopped all antipressants, its seems I am very sensitive to these meds,
Does anybody else just take quetiapine for anxiety and if so what are your thoughts on it. BTW does this med work right away or has it got to build up like the other stuff.

I have just been treated for depression for most of my life i am now 58yrs about 10 yrs ago I
mentioned to my doctor re Bipolar and all he said was why did I think I had it.
anyways moved and tried again finally had to see some social worker who said I did not need secondary
mental health care, cant believe what I wet through to get a diagnoses .Was put on depakote and also
risperidone mood stabilizers. What a nightmare side effects of one was severe anxiety so I felt like
drinking as soon as I woke to relieve this the other one made me feel like a zombie I almost had an
accident when trying to drive.Have been battling since then and recently with a new doctor tried to get
help, finally went to see a psychiatrist and he said to come of my Venlafaxine and just take Quetiapine.
cannot believe it as I have seen the bad side effects of this drug.In my mind they are all useless.
