So I am looking to see if this side effect is something temporary.

I have been put on just 5mg a week via injection (.2) to help with the beginnings of a 6 month Medrol use (24mg). Just starting with 2mg for 2 weeks.

So with the Methotrexate I am may be having some issues which include

bloating

reflux

heartburn

upset stomach

bloating

- If it is, when does it stabilize?

- Every time I eat or drink something, it does not want to go all the way down. I feel it less when I am standing, but as soon as I sit or lay down everything wants to come up.

- I am still making myself eat, but I am finding I have to eat less and less. Even drinking water is less and less since it also wants to come up.

-- Also have some difficulty talking because there is this weird  chocking/vomiting

- Fatigue factor is at about a 6 but it changes from day to day.  I am still keeping active though.

- Is this common at 5mg?

I am on Enbrel as well...I wish I could say they knew what I had, but the latest is Reactive Arthritis.

Any insight would be soooooooo helpful

Oooooops! Meant to say to help with the tapering beginnings of a 6 month Medrol use (24mg). I've been on Prednisone or Medrol for the last 6 months and Rheumy added 5mg of Metho to help with the tapering. Is this common?

I would let your doctor know as this sounds like a side effect which may not be good. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Patti THANKS for responding! I was wondering if people were going to reply. smile My Rheumy keeps begging to stop reading blogs because it brings me some anxiety, but I do believe that knwoledge is power and being that I am trying soooooo hard to head towards remission, I am not playing around with the side effects.

I am truly scared of the Metho and even more scared about the tapering of the Medrol as I hear the side effects are quite brutal.

In a way being off the Metho would be the best thing because then we would find out if the Enbrel is indeed working.

I have e-mailed as you advised. I hope other people will reply with their experiences.

I have bought a ton of antacids in the meantime.
