Newly diagnosed

Hi I am a newly diagnosed adult with nephroti syndrome. Still to have biopsy. Just wondering how long from biopsy and starting treaent does it take oedema to go?

    If you have oedema due to nephrotic syndrome then it will not completaly go away until your kidneys are healthy again, but if you get put on duretics the amount should reduce drastically. Some people get better in few months, for others it takes years. Stay positive and good luck on your recovery!

    Dear Janet2464,

                               In my case it took several months.But getting off the Prednisalone took more than 18months. And that was after 4 months of dialysis tooo. There are no easy answers, but people don't actually die and there are no simple treatments as no one actually seems to know the causes of this condition.

    As the name suggests it's a collection of conditions.

    All i can suggest is to follow the advice of the nephologist to the letter. Be as positive as you can, and follow the most healthy diet available.
